Wild Caving In West Virginia - 331306

An afternoon of Beginner level wild caving. Participants will be introduced to basic caving safety, underground navigation, and some elementary limestone cave geology. Participants need not be super-athletes, but should be reasonably fit and active, ready for a full afternoon of physical activity. Dress using the "inner layer/outer layer" concept (shorts and t-shirt and then long pants and long sleeves over top, that can be peeled off afterwards so as not to muddy the vehicle). Caving footwear can be hiking boots or running shoes; no sandals, Crocs, or open toed shoes. Also bring a change of footwear for after the trip, again to keep you vehicle clean. Finally, bring a large plastic trash bag to put muddy clothing in for the ride home. Water, snack, food, and camera are optional. Participants will also be provided with a Medical Form/Participant Agreement to fill out and hand-carry along to the event.
